Description
We are looking for a highly skilled, and detail-oriented accounting coordinator who excels at multitasking. The accounting coordinator will act as a point of contact for agents and staff members, with responsibilities including the processing of real estate commissions, pending and closing transaction data, and escrow accounts. They may handle bookkeeping, assist in preparing financial reports, taxes, and audits, and resolving discrepancies. Applicants are expected to be analytical, collaborative, and able to maintain confidentiality. 

To be successful on the job, the accounting coordinator should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. The role also requires an ethical, thorough, and attentive person with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Accounting Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Working with other members of the accounting department to compile, analyze, and report financial data
  • Using financial software and entering financial information into company files or databases
  • Coordinating payment of real estate commissions to agents in our five offices using percentage formulas
  • Entering pending, closing, and sales transaction data, and escrow account tracking
  • Performing monthly billing of agent expenses
  • Processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and earnest money deposits
  • Preparing weekly, monthly, or yearly reports and account reconciliations

Accounting Coordinator Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in bookkeeping, management, prior real estate experience is a plus
  • Dependable, friendly, and approachable team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and math skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation
  • Proficiency with computers, especially bookkeeping software, strong typing skills
  • High level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency, especially when multitasking
