CELEBRATE JOHNNY APPLESEED

We are not going to be sour apples now that the Johnny Appleseed Festival has been canceled. In celebration of the time and life of John Chapman, try spending the day reenacting a simpler time. Outdoor family activities celebrate the season and allow your family to enjoy the beauty of nature. You may consider activities that limit screen time and help promote healthy habits and create lasting memories. Some fun fall ideas might be to:

  • Go Apple Picking at an Orchard
  • Decorate Your Home for the Fall
  • Collect Pine cones to Display
  • Picnic with Apples in the Park
  • Rake Leaves and Jump into the pile
  • Make S'mores Around a Campfire
  • Take Fun Family Bike Rides
  • Bake a Favorite Fall Apple Recipe
  • Take a Family Holiday Card Photo
  • Go to a Local Pumpkin Patch
  • Go for a Hike Through the Woods
  • Collect Colorful Fall Leaves
  • Take a Drive in the Country
  • Plant an Apple Tree!

Autumn is right around the corner, and with local festivals put on hold, let's not let one bad apple ruin our fall festivities. There are so many great ways for families to enjoy time together during this changing season. With the weather finally starting to cool off, there is something for the whole family! In the spirit of Ol' Johnny, let's make NE Indiana an array of apple trees... plant an apple tree with your family this fall!

How bravely Autumn paints upon the sky

The gorgeous fame of Summer which is fled!

Hues of all flowers that in their ashes lie,

Trophied in that fair light whereon they fed

FALL REAL ESTATE MARKET

Despite the early spring market halt of the shutdown, the sale of existing homes continued to recover at a record pace through July. With the spike in home sales in June, the market has now reached pre-COVID levels, according to the National Association of RealtorsĀ®.

Record low mortgage rates continue to provide opportunities for buyers to lock-in low monthly mortgage payments for years to come. With home prices on the rise again due to a persistent shortage of housing and the future prediction of further home value increase over the next two years, now is the best time to buy.
