To Warm Up the Winter
A warm drink helps you settle in on cold nights. This recipe uses pantry staples and takes about 10 minutes. Makes four servings.
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 cups milk or milk alternative
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons sugar or sugar substitute
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- Marshmallows or whipped cream, optional
DIRECTIONS:
- Warm the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Do not boil it.
- Whisk in the cocoa powder and sugar or sugar substitute until smooth.
- Add the vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Let it heat for another two to three minutes.
- Serve with marshmallows or whipped cream.
