Established in 1977, Mike Thomas Associates is a family-owned and operated real estate company that has grown alongside the tremendous expansion and development of Northeast Indiana. Early settlers and Native Americans referred to Fort Wayne as a crossroads due to its strategic location at the convergence of the St. Mary’s, St. Joseph, and Maumee Rivers. An act of Congress organized the Indiana Territory on May 7, 1800, and for the first fifty years, the settlements here grew very slowly. Today, Fort Wayne is a key metropolitan area and continues to grow and transform as corporations and individuals are drawn to this robust, thriving community.
OUR FUTURE
Greater Fort Wayne has long been known for its elevated quality of life, and as Northeast Indiana advances, we look forward to a time of growth, innovation, and progress. Over recent years, Fort Wayne has won numerous awards for community, affordability, and family-friendliness. With many new projects on the horizon that will attract further business and industry, the acceleration of growth in the region doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
Fort Wayne is the fastest-growing metropolitan area in the Great Lakes region, with quite a few ongoing projects. This fall will see the completion of Electric Works in downtown Fort Wayne, a reinvention of the former GE campus. It will become a historic hub of innovation and entrepreneurship. Next year STAR Bank, a local business, will be investing in its community by building its headquarters in downtown Fort Wayne. Phases II and III of the Riverfront project will be completed by 2023, bringing jobs and private investment into our community. The future of Northeast Indiana is looking bright as we work together to build a best-in-class community.
